Head of Property & Marine Claims & Claims Customer & Broker Relationship

Zurich is one of the most specialized insurance companies within non-life insurance for local and international business in the Nordic market. We are now looking for a positive and experienced person to join our Nordic Claims team as Head of Property & Marine Claims and Claims Customer & Broker Relationship.

Job description

As a manager within Claims you lead a team that provides high quality customer focused claims services and is responsible for ensuring the effective and prompt settlement of claims within your lines of business. You will coach the team within claims handling, negotiations, large loss presenting and reporting and other personal developments. You will report to the Nordic Chief Claims Officer and deliver leadership that drives the desired behaviors, goals and approaches within the team. You develop and lead a learning culture e.g. a continuous improvement mindset, dialogue and actions with stakeholders based on peers, co-workers and customer experiences.

You will have the technical responsibility for Property, Engineering & Marine Claims within assigned authority level. Involve and influence those cases exceeding this level, have a portfolio view of pending claims with focus on Large and Complex claims. You will also be responsible for Claims Relationship management and Customer & Broker relationship as well as develop a cross-functional learning and experience culture with underwriters, risk engineers and other stakeholders.

You will be a member of the Claims Management Team.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Several years of working within Claims
  • Preferably an academic degree
  • Preferably experience in a Leadership role
  • Relevant business/industry qualification
  • Strong relationship builder with ability to inspire and motive colleagues
  • Good technical knowledge along the claims handling core processes
  • Very good communication skills in English, written and spoken, are required

  • Leadership skills and interest, e.g. how to lead teams across multiple locations and different cultures
  • Strong relationship builder with ability to inspire and motive colleagues
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Proactive and innovative approach to claim solutions
  • Problem solving, decision making and judgment skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
